I am a former Fulbright grantee who spent a grand total of 2 years teaching English in 2 different cities in South Korea. With the help of a couple of English teachers we used to volunteer at Heemang (Hope) Orphanage in Yeongcheon, and then at The Salvation Army Orphanage in Daejeon, teaching English. I've also volunteered at KKOOM's Annual Holiday Party at Samsungwon in Gumi, sold candy at my school for a fundraiser, and held a book drive at my school, collecting and donating over 700 books to 3 orphanages scattered across Korea. Currently for KKOOM I am helping out with the International Education Program on the Curriculum Development Team as Team Leader. With the help of 6 other team members, we are in the process of creating a year-long ESL program that will be taught via internet to a handful of kids living in Korean orphanages.
